Thanks! I tried a variant of that procedure earlier today, and found that /usr/lib/iceape/chrome still had one stray symlink (installed-chrome.txt), requiring a small amount of extra manual cleanup. At any rate, that seems to have been the only problem; with a proper chrome setup, iceape starts normally. -- Aaron M.
