Afaiu you are going to put a version of sasl into that can work with broken apps (handing over R/LF/CRLF). *After* etch's release you are going to search and fix these broken application and later channge cyrus-sasl to no accept garbage anymore, at this point of time the situtation for backporting looks like this: etch sasl + other backported stuff from sid (no-more-garbage) --> ok backported sid sasl + other backported stuff from etch --> ok backported sid sasl + etch apps (which are broken) --> not ok. As most cases of backporting work I fail to see the big issue. cu andreas -- The 'Galactic Cleaning' policy undertaken by Emperor Zhark is a personal vision of the emperor's, and its inclusion in this work does not constitute tacit approval by the author or the publisher for any such projects, howsoever undertaken.
