What more information do you want ? I think you said this was in the camp of
upstream now ? And you asked me to contact them. Which admitelly i have not
yet done, but which i also believe is somehow the job of the package
maintainer.

I strongly object to this. As said, i installed Yellow Dog Linux, and it had
no such problem, so i think we can exclude any kind of hardware problem, and
this is a serious regression.

Yeah, just right now i don't have time for this, i need to find it though, i
need the box to go into production again ASAP. 

But any hint about how to find out why udevd kills the pipe would be welcome,
i was told to write a C program which writes to stdout, and reports the exact
error message. Also, another idea would be to debug the problem on the udevd
side, but the quick glance i had was not enough to allow me to do this in a
meaningful way. Like always, time is missing to further investigate this.
