So what? It's also fixable by removing the package from Debian. Neither is the right solution. It is crucial that users be able to install guile-1.6 and guile-1.8 at the same time. Guile is carefully arranged so that this is possible. There is no reason for gnucash to build-conflict with one of them. If there is a bug (and we still don't know that, lacking a proper build log) then it is a simple matter to diagnose and fix it correctly. Indeed, the bug may well not lie in gnucash at all; it may be a bug in guile in fact. We simply don't know until the details are apparent. Thomas
