the error on /etc/init.d/mysql i:
# /etc/init.d/mysql start
Starting MySQL database server: mysqld.
/etc/lsb-base-logging.sh: line 34: RUNLEVEL: unbound variable

This error is happening since 2 or 3 weeks, i havent been using mysql on this
desktop PC, yet
now i need to test a pre-production server mysql needs to be active.

I use to surpass this error by restaring the PC in single user mode and
'apt-get -s install'.

Enrique

This was a bug in the lsb-base package that has been fixed in the meantime.
Please upgrade "lsb-base" first and then try mysql again.
