Something in libc6/locales caused unmaintained belocs-locales-* to be
installed here and now I seem to be pretty screwed. Hmm. OK got locales
2.5-1 from snapshot.debian.net and now up and running.

It appears to fail in wmemset, but the stack trace appears to be crap
soon after that. I don't know what called wmemset. Running the
unstripped binary is not helping;
