I tried the multiarch iso a couple of times in the last 2 weeks and it
only works on powerpc.  i386 and amd64 are missing all the kernel module
udeb's and the installer is hence completely useless for those.

The single architecture iso's for netinst were fine however.

I just checked the Oct 29 multiarch netinst image and it is still broken.

No one ever acknowleged my email reporting the problem to the debian-boot
list so I have no idea if anyone knows or cares unfortunately.
