This is awesome. Those new images really came up really quick, as 8.4 was released yesterday[1]. Truly impressive. I've took a look and didn't noticed any serious issue, only this in dmesg: [ 39.275964] systemd[1]: Cannot add dependency job for unit sshd-keygen.service, ignoring: Unit sshd-keygen.service failed to load: No such file or directory. [ 39.285405] systemd[1]: Cannot add dependency job for unit dbus.socket, ignoring: Unit dbus.socket failed to load: No such file or directory. [ 39.291782] systemd[1]: Cannot add dependency job for unit display-manager.service, ignoring: Unit display-manager.service failed to load: No such file or directory. But this looks to be present since 8.3 at least. Worth mentioning that although the warning exists, there's no problem on regenerating SSH host keys, which is done by cloud-init. Also, the mirror in the manifest[2] is set to "http://cloudfront.debian.net/debian", but on an instance it was changed to the default "http://httpredir.debian.org/debian". In the beginning of "/etc/apt/sources.list" there's the following mention: ## Note, this file is written by cloud-init on first boot of an instance ## modifications made here will not survive a re-bundle. ## if you wish to make changes you can: ## a.) add 'apt_preserve_sources_list: true' to /etc/cloud/cloud.cfg ## or do the same in user-data ## b.) add sources in /etc/apt/sources.list.d ## c.) make changes to template file /etc/cloud/templates/sources.list.debian.tmpl So I guess this is related to the fact that there's a newer version of cloud-init in backports than the one we were used to. > I'll work on Beijing in the next few days. Or does this have relation to the fact that you are not an Amazon employee anymore? Regards, Tiago.
