I'm sorry for the late reply, I'm reassign this bug to desktop-base.
Unfortunately, Etch is frozen what means that we can't push in a
change to fix this minor bug now. I'll work with the artist that made
the gdm theme (debian-moreblue) to solve the problem right after we
release Etch, and ping you.
