So I gathered from later on in the thread. I'm afraid I don't have a box running unstable + X yet, so was unaware, sorry for the ignorant suggestion. I may have a look at implementing Branden's counter-suggestion, to actually parse out existing XFree 3.3 conf files and importing the config.
