Package: dpkg Version: 1.2.14elf in dselect's package selection smorgasboard menu, there's this great big list of packages, one per line. Which is wonderful. But when scrolling through it for the very first time, during setup of a a brand new debian gnu/linux system, the user doesn't know how far through it they are. Uh oh, it might go on forever! Will I be done before dinnertime?
A simple indicator on the current package summary line in the middle of the screen would give a big psychological boost: adduser (36/857) installed; ...
