Just an small experience, beeing the maintainer of libadns from Ian, which includes some regression tests I had the problem, that libadns itself was easyly portable, the Regression tests, expecially since they deal with numerical errno and heap sizes (for memleaks) where not so easy. I had to make a few adjustments. On the other hand, I would have loved to export the regression tests, to not stop the builds on them. Ah yes, if you look for regression tests, you can also see Ian's framework in Source: adns.
