We cannot guarantee that an admin fiddles with binaries in /usr/bin/ (as opposed to /usr/local/bin) either. That doesn't mean that packages have to cope with that situation. Again: "We can provide a sensible default for system users' removals that copes with most situations and leave a door open (through debconf) to sysadmins that want to fiddle with system users." Heck, it can even be a generic debconf question shared across packages, so that the sysadmin has no need to answer it for every package. And, again, if the sysadmin is _supposed_ to use the account for other things then there should be no removal action and no question asked at all. Regards Javier
