FWIW, the kernels in dapper and unstable both have the possibility to suspend (to ram and disk). Suspend to disk should mostly works on PC-hardware. Suspend to ram is a bit more tricky, but I think ubuntu has the same software as debian, in this case. I could be however, that ubuntu installs packages by default which debian doesn't. grts Tim
