This software is not packaged in Debian (yet ? but it needs a patched

as the package name. Perhaps openprinting-papi or openprinting or ...

I'm not particularly attached to the package name, but there will likely
be issues with the library name.
What's worse is that the OpenPrinting libpapi already appears in a few
other distributions, and is already referenced in a published standard
by the OpenPrinting group.
So, perhaps, the hardware-counter PAPI group should consider a name
change instead.
