Ubuntu seems to have managed it OK? I imagine it would be a gain for
slower systems too?

Before the recent pango update in sid, I had tons of fonts installed
and fc-cache was a pain, so I'd definitely appreciate that once I have
time to figure out which font caused my font rendering issues.

Triggers would be really useful for module-assistant/dkms too I
imagine - autobuild a bunch of modules for each kernel headers package
installed. Dunno if that would be possible though.
