I have looked at the release notes, what little documentation there is, and much but not all of the source code. It would certainly help if a warning were included in the release notes but the most critical fix is to the misleading statement in sysv-rc.postinst that enabling insserv is "recommended" with no warning about the potential adverse consequences. I have attached a proposed patch. --Mike Bird
