It’s not a feature. It is a design mistake.

If you keep on implementing whatever seems best for *your* use, without
any care for usability, you’re going straight into a wall, and all the
efforts that have been put into making Debian more usable will be thrown
away.

There is a place where you can access everything that’s installed on
your system: it’s call a shell.
