In a more generic form, doing almost anything is harder than it looks.

If developing a Linux distribution for use by hundreds of millions of people 
all around the world on systems ranging from embedded systems to laptops and 
HPC systems was easy then we would have solved issues like what size of tmpfs 
to use long ago.
