Agreed. I'd have expected people, if anything, to answer suggesting the correct procedure to get things done in this case. I was surprised to see replies harshly escalating matters this way. My understanding is that we have a package that looks unmaintained for 4 years. Yelling at those who volunteer to do some work on it, instead of guiding them to do it in the best way, seems silly and rather un-debianish to me.
