Assuming you're referring to myself, I'd certainly be happy to discuss any of this--feel free to mail me privately if you like. I don't think that we agreed on merging /usr at all. I have written some patches for initramfs-tools to permit fsck and mount of /usr in the initramfs in addition to the rootfs, but that's as far as this has gone. There's no merging here, just changing where /usr is mounted in the boot process. I'll be happy to consider anything you want to raise in more detail; nothing as yet has been changed, and there's certainly plenty of time to revise things. Regards, Roger -- .''`.
