-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi,
I have a smallish script that takes the .tar file for the Altera QuartusII toolchain and generates .deb packages (non-free, undistributable) from that. Now, ftp-master has asked me not to package this separately as the metadata is similar in size to the actual package, which is a reasoning I can follow. I'd be open to suggestions how to ship something like that. - Would it make sense to have a common package with various repackaging scripts? - If so, should that contain logic to rebuild the packages when the packaging scripts are updated (that would be useful in my case, as the file list may need to be updated, and I'm not quite happy with the package split yet)? - Is there a package I could piggyback on, with a maintainer who would be interested in that?
