The netCDF library also defines a machine-independent format for representing scientific data. Together, the interface, library, and format support the creation, access, and sharing of scientific data. This package contains the Fortran shared library. The netcdf package used to contain C, C++ and Fortran libraries. The latest netcdf tarball now contains only the C library, and the C++ and Fortran libraries are released individually. As there are quite a few reverse dependencies of all three libraries, we need to package all three and do a coordinated transition.
