Right now, it's still not a good idea but it should not require too many changes to make it possible AFAIK: 1/ fixing packages.debian.org to ignore such addresses when extracting maintainers addresses (and in those cases forward mails only to the package tracker) 2/ fixing the BTS to use f...@packages.debian.org instead of sending a direct mail to the maintainer + a copy to the package tracker. Simon, Rhonda, would it be possible to implement (1) at the same time when you update packages.debian.org to use the new addresse for the forward to the package tracker ?
