I know this, but this specific sub-thread was for the case if the team has gotten a list on lists.debian.org (so with public archives already). Using the tracker team for automated mail only is fine. And we can consider adding a mail archive to the tracker, it's a matter of someone putting the required work mainly. formorer even wanted us to have a GSOC on integrating the package tracker with hyperkitty to add such a mail archive. Unfortunately I don't have the time to play mentor for the GSOC.
