Thank you for working on this. My original concern about automatically trimming logs was about convenience of debugging -- I sometimes need to search among the full history to see what happened to the package of interest in the past, or to quickly figure out what change has been made at what time. Since `apt changelog` can still retrieval the full history, my concerns are gone.
