As f comes before p in the ascii sort, this is no better than 2.0.7. Both will be treated as a downgrade. Check out: dpkg --compare-versions '2.0.7final' '<' '2.0.7pre3'; echo $? 0 (Thanks Rob ;-) This will return 0 0, indicating 2.0.7final is less than 2.0.7pre3 Next time check out your suggestion before proposing it ;-) Luck, Dwarf -- _-_-_-_-_- Author of "The Debian Linux User's Guide" _-_-_-_-_-_- aka Dale Scheetz Phone: 1 (850) 656-9769 Flexible Software 11000 McCrackin Road e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tallahassee, FL 32308 _-_-_-_-_-_- If you don't see what you want, just ask _-_-_-_-_-_-_- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
