Solution: instead of 'texconfig init', do 'fmtutil --byfmt formatname', where in jadetex's case formatname is one of jadetex and pdfjadetex. Other solutions may be possible, for example, by creating a custom fmtutil conffile and using it with 'fmtutil --cnffile /path/to/my-conf --all'. > since my concept of the true function of texconfig is a little clear, texconfig is an interface, a wrapper around the real tools. For example, 'texconfig init' is equivalent to 'fmtutil --all'. OTOH fmtutil is a wrapper too; a Real TeX Guru(tm) would use initex and pdfinitex directly :-) Antti-Juhani -- Antti-Juhani Kaijanaho A7 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ** <URL:http://www.iki.fi/gaia/> ** 118.
