That's what I wonder: Is www-data the uid of the web server process or is it the owner of the served files? Both at the same time is a very unwise choice as a default (but sometimes necessary for discussion boards and the like). -- The idea is that the first face shown to people is one they can readily accept - a more traditional logo.
