The editor is frequently required for installation on exotic hardware.

I really liked The Semware Editor Pro, which I picked up with a Sysop
Discount when I wanted to buy QEdit.  I was impressed with it.  The
closest I can get is a customized joe with a very very hacked config
file.  And even it doesn't offer all of the features and syntax
highlighting found in TSE/Pro.

It is free and I have been using it for a year and a half.  I've gotten
used to its limitations, but I find myself using vim now and then for
things like HTML and C.
