I've built a shell script that runs from a list, extracts source from the archives, builds the source, and installs the binary packages into a target CD archives.
I have been able to build several packages with this script, but when I got to perl-5.004 the build dies in the configure stage with the following error message: Say 'sh Configure' not 'sh <Configure' make: *** [config.stamp] Error 1 However, dpkg-buildpackage fails to return the error and the script continues along its merry way, failing to find packages to install, etc... If I cd to the proper directory, and execute dpkg-buildpackage from the bash prompt, everything builds ok. If I execute the same command line in my shell script, I get the above error message. I have tried various shell environments with no change (bash, ash, and sh) to the results. Anyone have any idea what's going on?
