This patch was written by one of my classmates. I told him to file a bug against shellutils, or to write to the maintainer, but I don't know if he finally did. The source is available for download in http://pusa.uv.es/~ulisses/debian-rc. I guess I can post a diff against the package in the BTS, if Mike wants one.
