Package: release-notes Severity: normal Hello,
Recently the default system log daemon was switched from sysklogd+klogd to rsyslog[1]. I think that this is worth mentioning in the release-notes, even though it doesn't affect upgrades to lenny but only fresh new installs. I don't know current practice regarding the documentation of changes of Debians defaults, but personally I'd prefer to have such changes documented somewhere at a central place, so I can follow Debians best practice if I want. And I don't know any better place than release notes for changes related to new releases. greetings jonas [1] http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2008/07/msg00493.html -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.25-1-amd64-resivo (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
