Not obsolete: ftp.debian.org ≠ www.debian.org. Feel free to propose
patches to ftpmaster to handle things differently.

That’s about www.debian.org. {ht,f}tp://ftp.debian.org/debian/doc/FAQ/
is still handled by ftpmaster.

P.-S.: Looking back at the initial bug report, I noticed it was about
debian-faq.ps.gz debian-faq.pdf.gz debian-faq.txt.gz (without “.en”), so
I retract my initial reply, and believe debian-faq does leave spurious
files in ../ (or /var/cache/pbuilder/result/ within pbuilder) and the
four byhand files are actually handled correctly by {pbuilder, the thing
that delete files from .changes}).
