Package: dpkg
Version: 1.10.28
dpkg is currently asking me about every single xlibs config file, even
though they aren't any pre-existing versions there, and then later
reporting an error. This is pretty tedious as you can probably
imagine! It already did the same for xfree86-common.
The new files do get installed depsite the error message.
Configuration file `/etc/X11/xkb/keymap/sgi/sk'
==> Modified (by you or by a script) since installation.
==> Package distributor has shipped an updated version.
What would you like to do about it ? Your options are:
Y or I : install the package maintainer's version
N or O : keep your currently-installed version
D : show the differences between the versions
Z : background this process to examine the situation
The default action is to keep your current version.
*** sk (Y/I/N/O/D/Z) [default=N] ? z
Type `exit' when you're done.

I forwarded you the two mail delivery failures.
One of the mail I forwarded today returned with a "550 Blacklisted site".
You can find the three mail delivery failures at

Then, I'm closing this bug report.
I think the reported issue was fixed in dpkg 1.13.14:
* On package configuration, differentiate between modified and
deleted configuration files (Ian Jackson). Closes: #351361
* Improve processing of disappearing conffiles (Ian Jackson).
This is part of the fix for #108587.
Kind Regards,
