Package: dpkg
Version: 1.15.5.6
Severity: wishlist

I have an idea for this message,

   Configuration file `/etc/...'
==> Modified (by you or by a script) since installation.
==> Package distributor has shipped an updated version.
What would you like to do about it ? Your options are:
       Y or I : install the package maintainer's version
       N or O : keep your currently-installed version
D : show the differences between the versions
Z : background this process to examine the situation
The default action is to keep your current version.
   *** ....conf (Y/I/N/O/D/Z) [default=N] ?

Add options
Ynb: Yes, but don't leave a backup copy of the other version.
Nnb: No, but don't leave a backup copy of the other version.

Or make them new one letter options.

You see that way we needn't go clean up the mess it makes.

Yes, there are probably variables etc. to control this, however it is
not always that one wants to do these new options.
