Package: dpkg
Version: 1.15.8.3
Severity: wishlist

APT holds the dpkg lock itself. Currently, it must release
the lock before calling dpkg which creates a short time
frame where the database is unlocked. It would therefore
be useful if dpkg could be run with APT holding the
lock (possibly by adding a --run-unlocked option)
