Actually, there's other query commands currently reading the available
file, several of them when given an explicit package name or pattern.

Sorry, I guess I don't follow, a fix for what? We are talking about
just warnings here, dpkg-query should be working fine besides that.

The strict parser should only take effect on anything that's not the
status or the available files and --compare-versions.
