Would it make sense to add an architecture column to the right of Version
in "dpkg-query --list" output? I suspect this wouldn't break any scripts,
but on the other hand it would make the output wider.

Currently dpkg-query lists the architecture as part of the package name
when and only when a package is Multi-arch: same.

| $ dpkg-query -l |grep gcc-4.7-base | cat
| ii gcc-4.7-base:i386 4.7.0-8 GNU Compiler Collection (base package)
| ii gcc-4.7-base:mipsel 4.7.0-8 GNU Compiler Collection (base package)

Just musing,
Jonathan
