Package: dpkg-dev
Version: 1.17.6
Severity: minor

I would appreciate if dpkg-checkbuilddeps could produce a nicer error message than it currently does when it cannot parse build-dependencies:

$ dpkg-checkbuilddeps -d 'moo?!'
dpkg-checkbuilddeps: warning: can't parse dependency moo?!
Can't locate object method "simplify_deps" via package "Dpkg::Deps::KnownFacts"
at /usr/bin/dpkg-checkbuilddeps line 211.
