Package: dpkg
Version: 1.19.0.5+b1
Followup-For: Bug #906810

I got the same issue today.

baryluk@picoczarny:~$ su
Password:
root@picoczarny:/home/baryluk#

[...]
Extracting templates from packages: 100%
Preconfiguring packages ...
setting xserver-xorg-legacy/xwrapper/allowed_users from configuration file
dpkg: warning: 'ldconfig' not found in PATH or not executable
dpkg: warning: 'start-stop-daemon' not found in PATH or not executable
dpkg: error: 2 expected programs not found in PATH or not executable
Note: root's PATH should usually contain /usr/local/sbin, /usr/sbin and /sbin
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)
root@picoczarny:~# cd
root@picoczarny:~# which ldconfig
root@picoczarny:~# ls /sbin/ldconfig
/sbin/ldconfig
root@picoczarny:~#
[...]

I used then 'su -' to switch to super user, but I never had this problem
before with just 'su', so something apparantly changed.

Thanks.
