Package: dselect

Hye,
I have some strange problems with /var/lib/dpkg/available file, because when i
do a "dselect install" it's find an error in this file. But the strange thing
is that the error of the line in this file change all the time, and when i open
this file at the specified line the error has vanished:
- the first try:

dpkg: parse error, in file `/var/lib/dpkg/available' near line 194256 package
`python2.1-oss':
MSDOS EOF (^Z) in field name `Installed-Size'

- the second try:

dpkg: parse error, in file `/var/lib/dpkg/available' near line 145694:
field name `0a' must be followed by colon

- the third try:

dpkg: parse error, in file `/var/lib/dpkg/available' near line 193828 package
`bioperl':
`Recommends' field, missing package name, or garbage where package name
expected

...

Could it be an hardwar problem? do you have a solution?
PS: I have try a cp /var/lib/dpkg/available-old /var/lib/dpkg/available so but
it's the same problem

thank for your answer.

This looks like hardware problem to me, either a disk or memory issue,
and I have not seen anything similar reported.

I'm going to close this, but if you can still reproduce it (doubtful
given the age of the report :), please either reopen or file a new bug.

Thanks,
Guillem
