Package: dpkg Version: 1.9.20 Severity: normal It is unfortunate that woody will ship with a dpkg that does not have --force-overwrite defaulting to on. IIRC we've always tried to turn it on for release and off in between so file conclicts can be spotted. There are still file conflicts in woody, like #141838.
There should probably be some procedure in place so we remember to turn it on at the right time. -- System Information Debian Release: 3.0 Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux satin 2.4.18 #1 Wed May 1 22:30:02 EDT 2002 i586 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C Versions of packages dpkg depends on: ii libc6 2.2.5-5 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libncurses5 5.2.20020112a-7 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2 1:2.95.4-7 The GNU stdc++ library -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
