Subject: dselect: Please provide option for old behavior Package: dselect Version: unavailable; reported 2003-05-31 Severity: wishlist Please at least provide the option for dselect to conform to the old behavior, specifically so that a) selected packages are not changed without the user's knowledge; b) selecting a package for remove, purge, or hold brings up a conflict resolution dialog in which the status of affected packages can be viewed and modified (and further conflicts associated with such modifications can be resolved in the same way); c) the option of dselect conforming to Recommends dependencies is available; d) selecting a package for installation brings up a conflict resolution dialog showing the modified status of packages when Recommends are enforced; or if these options are available in the current version, please provide documentation with information on how to activate these options. Thank you for your time and consideration and your contribution to the Debian project.
