Hello Release and DPKG teams, A fair number of conffiles have changed of packages.
The issue: dpkg handling of this situation has changed between Sarge and Etch, see bug#346282. However, unless we ask the user to upgrade dpkg before anything else, there is a fair chance half of the system is upgraded with Sarge dpkg and the other half with Etch dpkg. Unfortunately, I know how to avoid spurious dpkg conffiles handling with either of them separately, but not with both of them at once. So we have to take a position on this issue. I can provide the list of affected packages. There is at least openssh, vim and openoffice. Cheers, -- Bill. <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Imagine a large blue swirl here. PS: in 3 years, I never get a single answer from the debian-dpkg mailing list, so if you meet dpkg maintainers on IRC, please raise the issue. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
