I get this error if I try to log in from a diskless workstation which I
have forgotten to enter into netgroups.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply, Finn-Arne
The system worked perfectly yesterday so its very strange
Error message from GDM that claims to be looking for the users home
directories in /skole/linux/home0/.
I haven't changed anything from the default setup (the main server has a
fresh install, I've only added the Gnome desktop, GDM and xscreensaver)
so my users are in the default location /skole/tjener/home0.
Best regards

Hi,
I've got a problem all of a sudden when I try to login from a thin
client and/or at the LDAP-server itself. I get this error message:
Your home directory is listed as: '/skole/linux/home0/testt' but it
does not seem to exist. Do you want to log in with the / (root)
directory as your home directory?
Strange setup having homedirs under /skole/linux and not under
/skole/tjener
So, somehow the something has changed after I rebooted the servers.
All my users are in the customary location: /skole/tjener/home0 and
the permissions seem to be correct:
tjener:/skole/tjener/home0# ls -l
drwxr-xr-x 4 deskt deskt 4096 2007-02-09 10:27 deskt
drwxr-xr-x 12 infosi infosi 4096 2007-02-13 11:38 infosi
drwx------ 2 root root 16384 2007-02-09 09:26 lost+found
drwxr-xr-x 11 testt testt 4096 2007-02-14 11:07 testt
Ahh, This is the normal setup.
I guess you have changed something, or else, something is missing from
you error report.
