The reason I was doing etch was simply because that is the most recent
release version and was thinking it wouldn't have any bugs. I tried
upgrading my ram from 256 to 768 and used an external DVD drive, and I still
get the dictionary error.

I then tried the net install of the lenny CD -- both as a server and then as
a single workstation, but every time it boots I don't get a GUI. Even when
I type in startx or startkde the command line says it doesn't recognize that
command.

I guess I'll try downloading the DVD version of skolelinux lenny -- maybe
that will install better. Or does anyone know what I'm doing wrong with the
net CD install of skolelinux Lenny?

I'll also try burning at a slower speed....that makes sense since I'm
getting the same error every time.

Thanks,

Tim
