IMO this might be needed, too: check /etc/environment on the client systems (disable proxy). check /usr/share/debian-edu/networked-kde3/share/config/kioslaverc if using KDE (disable proxy). [kde3 is there due to historical reasons.] Both might be those "System settings" for various clients. Wolfgang
