Hello,

Darren Salt a écrit :
I finally found the 'debianEeepc Live' image for USB key and this time,
WIFI is OK (using ath9k)
[snip]

Well, at least that much is known good...
this live usb image uses Lenny+2.6.29 kernel : that's the reason why it works.
Unfortunately, the Ethernet card is not working, despite the 2.6.29 kernel.

$ lspci -nn | grep Ethernet
here are the network cards :
01:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Attansic Technology Corp. Device [1969:1062] (rev c0) 02:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Atheros Communications Inc. Device [168c:002b] (rev 01)

Finally, I found the "old" usb ethernet card I had lost and I could "net-install" Lenny.

I only found this installation of a 1008HA - which must use the same hardware.

The problem was the same : no NIC cards when installing Lenny. SO he installed ubuntu 9.x with an external CD. With WIFI working, he could download, compile and install the drivers for the LAN card.
Do you have any clue to make a fresh install with the 2.6.29 kernel? I
tried the Debian "testing" but it seems that it uses a 2.6.26. May be I
should try the "unstable"???

I see no reason not to mix them. "man apt_preferences" for more information.

[snip]
That's what I'll do now that I have an ethernet card, as soon as I have time for it.

Laurent
