SYSLINUX 3.83 Debian-2009-11-28 EBIOS Load Error - Boot error
That means the BIOS has correctly loaded the bootloader (syslinux)
from
the USB key, but syslinux is failing to load one or more of
syslinux.conf, the kernel and the ramdisk.
Problem does appear to have been a memory stick that wasn't
quite big enough. I put the installer on a larger stick and was
able to run the installation; however, it failed at the point where
it is doing the actual main installation because it couldn['t find
the web site, even though it identified (& I selected) the ethernet
port for the network connection. The installer stick I created was
from the netinst; I just did the minimal base install to get a
working system, then later did a full install from a CD image on
another (bigger) memory stick.
That worked with no other problems that I can tell and I am
now in the (long) process of getting familiar with it and it's
capabilities and getting the software I want installed on it. (Also
already decided to upgrade the RAM & the battery on it...)
